One Innocent Comment Reviews

Today I finished a true gem, I had not read this author before but the recommendation was from a dear friend and I’m so grateful for it. The story had me in the first few pages, I was hooked. I highly recommend One Innocent Comment by K. Ray Carter. Fast paced, suspenseful, of course a budding love twist. The characters pull you into their psyche with each move they make.

I’m really hoping for a sequel or even a series with these new found friends I’ve come to know and love.
K. Ray Carter reminds me of a few of my other favorites like Jacqueline Winspear, Susan Eila MacNeal and Kristin Hannah.

Would be a great book club read or beach read if you’re on the lookout for something new.

A quality read is a rare treat, and K.Ray Carter’s first shot hit ALL the buttons. I am, frankly, stunned at so many things about the book!

First and foremost, the sheer volume of research/knowledge/background into the workings and interrelationships of the government, FBI, CIA, international politics, and international trade is astounding. I (also) have background in political science and international relations and the casual reference to details, like the Beijing Legat’s work, and sharp take on the American expat existence speaks to years of reading, research, and travel.

Many people write reasonably well but it takes a rare individual to weave intersecting plot lines into a cohesive, layered and interesting story. Beyond that?  A novel of international intrigue with thriller plot lines, peopled by characters with depth, color and intelligence?  This book hits it out of the ballpark.

Thanks for the wonderful hours I remained in your fictional world. My hope is that ‘One Innocent Comment’ leads to a long and successful post career,-career!

 Congratulations, and well done!
